FIM - my first depth WORLD RECORD - 127m ๐
.
After nearly 14 years my dream came true. Iโve set my first absolute depth world record!๐ฅ
.
It was a long journey. I achieved 81m in my first year of deep freediving, Dahab 2009, 100m in Sharm El Sheikh back in 2010, a year later 106m and silver medal at World Championships in Kalamata, then doing 114m in Vertical Blue 2014.
.
That was around the time when I finished my studies, which means no more 3 months of holidays spent diving deep, I had much less time due to regular work but in 2019 I became free from 9-5 work and could focus on depth again.
.
Last couple of years allowed me to progress to 127m. For me it was always a game of equalization in FIM. You can watch the video on my YT channel linked in a BIO. The dive felt comfortable oxygen wise, equalization on that particular dive was spot on and maybe enough for 2-3m more.
.
During all those years I was relentlessly working in the pool and apnea capacity is not my problem in that discipline. My biggest struggle is equalization and Iโm slowly improving in that but sometimes I still feel like a beginner in it and I donโt have a freedom which would allow me to be 100% confident I can always reach desired depth.
.
I remember when in 2014 I set my first pool world record. I gained confidence but still felt like a beginner, it took me 5-8 years more to master dynamic disciplines and be fully confident in them.
.
Currently if I would have to compare, I feel my depth journey is at 2014โs pool level. Still so much to learn and explore. Thank you @_kocia_mama_ ๐, my family, friends for being with me all this time! Shout out to the whole @vertical_blue team for making it possible!
