On Sunday 10th of July we welcome Cristiano Guttarolo to the restaurant in a special all day event to celebrate his wines. Cristiano’s vineyards are set high on the Murge Plateau just outside the village of Gioia del Colle, his wines which whilst unmistakably Pugliese and full of wild, sun-drenched fruit, have a balance often missing around here. Harnessing the beautiful minerality that karst terrain brings, they are invigorating wines full of life. Our lunch service will run from 12 until 4pm with Marcelo cooking classic dishes from the region such as acquasala, fave e cicoria and spaghetti with Ricci di mare. The menu will be à la carte and reservations can be made via our website. Cristiano will be here for the duration with Alex and Damiano to give insights into the wines we will be pouring on the day. We will have a large selection of his wines open by the glass and by the bottle. From 6 the Sargasso sound system will be up and we will have Joe Lye going deep into his record collection playing a selection of Balearic and Italian disco. Along side Cristiano wines we will be making his favourite cocktail and the kitchen will be on hand with frito misto. As always with Sargasso Sundays’ there is no need to book. This one has been in the making for a little while and truly promises to be something special!
