This past Sunday, October 30, Luiz Lula Da Silva won the Brazilian 🇧🇷 presidential election, defeating Jair Bolsonaro. This victory is huge for the prospect of the Amazon rainforest! Lula has promised to protect the rainforest from illegal logging and deforestation, a complete difference from Bolsonaro’s policies, which will hopefully ensure the security of the rainforest and the ability for it to continue to act as a climate mitigator in our world!
