Although @mandychengdesign and her architect husband Rory Reynolds don’t formally collaborate, the savvy couple went totally hands-on in the process, and both treated their Silver Lake house as a case study for ideas clients might not typically chose - such as forgoing a dining table in favor of a generously sized kitchen island. “I would never propose omitting your dining room,” says Cheng, “but we can work here, and whenever guests come everybody always hangs out in the kitchen.” The good looking guest room (images 4 & 5) offers additional workspace with the custom Murphy bed cleverly tucked into bespoke cabinetry.
