Today, I decided to include these species' current IUCN Red List status to remind us why Earth "Day" warrants much more than just one day a year. Even though many have been labeled "Least Concern", they still deserve our attention and care all the same! 1. Reticulated giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata) - Endangered 2. African hawk-eagle (Aquila spilogaster) - Least Concern 3. Aldabra giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea) - Vulnerable 4. White-eyed slaty flycatcher (Melaenornis fischeri) - Least Concern 5. Günther's dik-dik (Madoqua guentheri) - Least Concern 6. African lion (Panthera leo) - Vulnerable 7. Tetraponera penzigi (Data Deficient) on whistling thorn acacia (Vachellia drepanolobium, Least Concern) 8. White-bellied go-away-bird (Crinifer leucogaster) - Least Concern 9. Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus) - Least Concern 10. African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) - Endangered
