It’s Prados Beauty’s Anniversary Y’all! Well it was on the 28th 😂😭 We were so busy working on all this new new that the whole day passed us by and we didn’t post about it. The end of the day came and we was like “my bad fam, we tired” 😭😂 I started @pradosbeauty from my baby girls nursery with $250 and a dream. I spent the next year doing research, bootstrapping, trademarking, copyrighting, designing, dreaming and hoping! I hoped that Prados would bring authentic representation to the beauty world and that we would finally be seen for the fuckin baddies we are! For my first major collection, I partnered with the homie @stevenpauljudd 💪🏽 I wanted to bring the vibrancy, beauty & the story of resiliency & strength of Indigenous Peoples to anyone & everyone who calls themselves makeup lovers. We took 50% of these sales & sowed it back into Indigenous communities throughout turtle island. We paid for shoes, backpacks, tuition, rents, light/gas bills, generators for unsheltered relatives, snow boots, clothing, wood for elders, hotel rooms for single moms escaping abuse, PPE for reservations, PPE for IHS, PPE for EMS & police departments, unfortunately we also paid for final resting places for relatives lost to Covid. This brand & these collections are more than just something to make money from. They are an example & set the standard that you can make money and give it back to the people without anything expected in return. I didn’t create Prados Beauty just for it to be the first Xicana & Indigenous owned beauty brand to be sold in a mega retailer. I created it so that others could be inspired & have a pathway to do it too! Thank you to everyone who follows me & supports @pradosbeauty 💜 I wouldn’t be where we are without you.
