Mahsa Amini should still be alive today. She died in Iran while in the custody of the “morality police” which enforces a strict dress code, including a hijab mandate. Demonstrations have broken out across the country and social media in response. Women are protesting in opposition to the law by cutting their hair and burning their hijabs. Women should have the freedom to dress how they choose without facing judgement or violence.
