Pele is said to live in Halemaʻumaʻu on Kilauea. Currently the eruption is located solely in the Halemaʻumaʻu Crater. As of this post there is no eruption on Mauna Loa. . Hawai’i is the ancestral home of seafaring Polynesians. In some stories it was said that Pele came to the current location of the Hawaiian Islands from Tahiti. . When on Hawai’i please remember to treat the entire chain of islands like a sanctuary. They are linked to sacred traditions with Hawaiian Islanders. No matter where you are, you could be in someone’s temple. Locals take priority.
