Tonight, Pepperdine is proud to honor our nation’s veterans by illuminating the Phillips Theme Tower in purple at sunset. The University serves as the sole California representative for “Light to Unite,” a commemoration of the 240th anniversary of our nation’s Purple Heart award, led by the National Flag Foundation and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Pepperdine has been serving veterans and their family members for more than 75 years and is an active participant in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Yellow Ribbon Program. We are proud to be ranked as one of the top colleges for veterans by the U.S. News & World Report year after year. We are proud to celebrate our veterans today on Veterans Day and every day.
