to my freshman year self, you did it! one year down and three ish maybe more to go. it’s funny because you never thought you’d even live to see the day where you would finish your junior year of high school, let alone go to college. it’s been quite the year to say the least. you decided to go to the college that you swore you’d never attend (it was the best decision you could’ve made). you’ve experienced heartbreak of all different kinds on several different occasions. you finally decided to get yourself into therapy and you were also diagnosed with anxiety and depression. you’ve cried more than you ever have in your life. but despite all that, you’ve learned and laughed and hugged and smiled and loved more than ever. that saying that dad always says about how “pictures are the only things that you’ll have left to look back on one day” really started to click in your head. you learned to count each and every little blessing in your life and in the lives of others. you’ve become best friends with total strangers who you hope to have be a part of your wedding and special occasions for your future kids. you’ve learned that being alone doesn’t meant that you’re lonely. it just means that you’re comfortable in your solitude and that is a huge step considering that you used to be too afraid to go to target by yourself. you learned to put yourself out there and to stop caring about what other people think because the second that you start caring, you’ll lose it all. you learned that taking 17 credit hours, hosting a podcast, working a minimum of 20-25 hours a week, doing social media, maintaining relationships with friends and family, paying your own bills, and learning how to be an adult all at the same time can make your life insanely chaotic and exhausting. but from all of that, you’ve learned to talk to and trust the lord more than anyone or anything else in your life and you know what, it might be a really good idea to keep it that way. so to my freshman year self, what the balls bruh. time flies by so fast when you have a wall dedicated to accutane tabs that remind you to not get preggo doesn’t it?
