FRESH. Next up: Steve’s Basement. Steve’s Basement was a dark, dark, dark adventure. This was one of the most collaborative experiences I have had in film yet. I presented the idea of designing Steve’s basement like fallopian tubes in my pitch with @mimicave and that idea turned into a set build. Mimi and Pawel would constantly bring me crazy ideas (like sunset mural walls) that pushed the design of this space to the next level of wacko it became. It was a true labour love from the engineering it took to create this beautiful floating staircase, to the meters of hand carved rock that my scenic team was so proud to build, to the 360 degree room of mirrors that took hours of model making and experimentation to get right. I am so thankful to have had the most INCREDIBLE construction/scenic & design team to support this mental vision we all had.
