Wildscreen🦋 Phew. Today is a rest day. Resting from an incredible, inspiring and wonderful week. I was honoured to get the chance to speak on a panel for Wildscreen on Tuesday all about the power of queer storytelling in the natural history film space, and how we can continue to grow this space and make it more comfortable and validating for everyone, alongside amazing people and friends @laurapennafort, @brighty_dit_editor and Tom Mcdonald, hosted by the ever fabulous @danowild... I felt so much validation and comfort at this festival, from the amount of people who knew my work and my story, and the fantastic friends, both old and new I have met this week, with a very special shout out to @e.ranney who basically guided me through the week and helped me so much, and @sophiedives who did the same and who I now have the great honour to work with (that's right! I'm soon to start as a researcher for @soundofffilms on a new project that I'm SO excited about!). I learnt so much and was able to unravel a lot of my doubt and imposter syndrome, and really believe that some of the projects I've had in my head for so long can actually happen. I felt validated as a trans, non binary pakistani indian woman in this industry as I was welcomed by @wildlife.camerawomen with open arms, and was impressed beyond expression at @pattiegonia superb talk on reinventing how we work in the environmental sector. There's so many more people I haven't mentioned who I loved speaking to and who I didn't get a chance to get pictures with, who I hope I cross paths with again, and work with, and so much more I want to say...but I'll leave you with this...
