• Alumni Spotlight • Oklahoma City University Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Entertainment Alumni, Erica Teeple.🌟🌟 “Hi everyone! My name is Erica Teeple and I am an OCU 2023 December Dance Performance Alumni from San Jose, CA 🦋 I have amazing memories of my time in the Ann Lacy School, and as I look back on my 3.5 years there, I always seem to find myself right back at the cornerstone of my journey; The connections with my peers, friends, faculty and the lessons they taught me along the way. From countless jungle cats in VDM’s jazz class, to hundreds of conversations in the locker rooms with friends, OCU prepared me for working professionally in the entertainment industry and I am so thankful for them! The professionalism and work ethic that they instilled in me, is deeply rooted in everything I do and continues to aid me in my journey. One thing that I carry with me through it all, is to create kindness, be genuine in your craft, and to be dependable and professional with everyone you work with☀️ After graduating, I immediately moved out to Los Angeles where I joined my first two dance companies, The Satin Dollz and LUME Dance Collective. Through these, I was able to utilize my skills that I honed at OCU (thank you the most to Entertainment Career Prep 1 and 2💡🌟) and applied myself, eventually getting promotions within both. I have been fortunate enough to travel internationally and around the states these past few months performing and working with professionals from all over! I have taught in dance studios, worked a semester as a work-study for T-Milly TV, acted in various commercials and TV/FILM, and even booked my next contract overseas in Paris 🤍 My advice to current students: Soak in all of the memories and moments💕You will learn so much, and every moment will come with a new lesson on your personal journey in the entertainment industry🦋And do it with a SMILE!!
