On my neighborhood walks I see paintings everywhere 👁👁, in the native plants and steep slopes but even in the weeds and trash. Mount Washington is a bewitching place that has certainly had an influence on my work. My solo at @friendsindeed_art titled INCARNATION, opens September 15th and I wanted to show where the idea for this piece came from with this video made in collaboration with @paultrillo ❤️. Usually a painting comes from an amalgamation of settings and subjects which go through an addition and subtraction process until things feel exactly right, but in this case it seemed to come to me more directly from the sight of this collection of old cars like shrouded relics, a typical sight in our neighborhood. The Yakkas (Pandam Paliya and Mahasona) of Sri Lankan folklore appear as apparitions of my own subconscious. #loop #loops #oilpainting
