Just in case anyone was wondering what I’ve been up to lately... I decided to repost @jliberson as he always describes the situation perfectly. “This is the After and the Before. The After is the outcome of about 60 hours of weeding and planting. The herbs, tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers were lovingly prepared and cared for by the great @traceyouterbridge in her greenhouse so we’ve got a shot at some August action. The straw (pathing) is from Lucerne Farms and is pretty damn fun to work with. The compost somehow also includes lobster and crab making it even more Maine-y. (I’m mildly curious about the process by which our compost comes to include lobsters and crabs). The BEFORE weeds were taller than me. While that may be unimpressive, some were even taller than Brooke. Trust me when I tell you that 6 ft tall weeds are daunting adversaries. My first reaction was basically “oh well, no garden this year.” But like all things, time and effort gets the job done.
