As of today, at least 200 people in Gaza have been killed by Israel's military force in two weeks. At least 59 children have been killed in the past week. There's nothing complicated about that. People like to claim that the violent resistance of an occupied people is the same as the ethnic cleansing being carried out by the government of Israel. Many tend to ignore the fact that Palestinians have been facing discrimination, restrictions, evictions, and violence for decades now. This isn't a conflict, it's not a war. It's settler colonialism, apartheid, and the murder of innocent people. It's an army stocked with deadly weapons, war intelligence technology, the backing of several countries (including billions of dollars from the United States), carrying out an ethnic genocide against people armed with faith and stones in an attempt to displace them and wipe out Palestinian existence. Palestinians are losing their homes, their families, their children, their lives, all of which Israel has been occupying for too long now. Palestinians are being censored, their hospitals are being bombed, their land is being forcibly taken. Any objective viewing of the massacres this week will tell you that there is no "both sides" to this. Any understanding of colonialism, nationalism, power dynamics, and inequality will tell you that there is only one aggressor here. Ignoring these elements and insisting on a "both sides" narrative or not taking a side at all ultimately aids in the murder and displacement of Palestinians. Palestine is the litmus test of principled liberation politics. Palestine is the litmus test of commitment to justice. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ
