PSA: for travelers who are not parents or understand what it’s like being around kids !!️ Today was a hard travel day. But my daughter had a hard time going through pre-check & a guy turned around and told me “I hope you daughter isn’t behind me on the plane”. Sometimes kids have days where it’s easier than others. Some that are extremely hard. Maybe travel is during nap time, you don’t have what you need at the time, or it’s it’s just simply a hard day. But when a toddler is acting a toddler by acting like a dinosaur, or playing on the floor or roaming around that doesn’t make them bad. When they have a tantrum because god knows what, just know it’s not fun for the mom either. Waiting at the gate can be hard, stressful for anyone specially for a toddler. Just understand it’s even harder on the mom than it is you, that might be standing 100 ft away, or next to on the plane. Please don’t sit there and criticize what I should be doing (medicating my child so they sleep), or threatening me that you will curse me out if they kick your seat. Just know us as moms are trying to do whatever we can to make it enjoyable. There are moms who pass out candy and forgiveness bags ahead of flights in case their kids are bad. It’s a shame that has to be a thing. If you want to sleep on the plane, bring headphones. If you complain about kids talking & laughing or you don’t want to be around a kid, then fly private. But have respect for those moms or parents who do everything they can to make it go smoothly. Please respect everyone with kids during travel because it’s hard, let alone when people make you feel uncomfortable & a burden. Toddlers have good & bad days just like anyone else. Thank you.
