I’ve done quite a few things in my couple decades on this Earth, but this was probably the most absolutely wild and surreal experience of my life. For several days, I lived in the guest hut of a Massai Mara village right below Mount Kilimanjaro. My mornings were spent wandering the plains of the African savannah being mesmerized by the beauty of this magnificent continent. My evenings were spent cooking with the friendly locals and playing games with the kids all up and down the streets. They didn’t speak much English, but I still felt like we could communicate in a different language that didn’t even require words. Despite looking entirely different than them, they treated me just like family and I felt so loved by the tribe. I wish I could share some pictures of my African friends, but they seemed very against me taking any photos of them, so I guess that’ll have to be a memory just for me. Here’s a shot of one of the bigger residents of the region instead. This wonderland will always hold a special place in my heart. 🐘
