200🌱 I'm not quite as wrinkly as a 200 year old tree, but I've felt almost as creaky as one this past year, probably because of the amount of things I've been doing! For my 200th post I wanted to highlight some of the exciting things I've been up to recently, including Wildscreen Film Festival 2022, the Heal Rewilding Conference, Jackson Wild Summit, Cheltenham Science Festival and of course...I changed my name! ...and many more... It's been tiring but really gratifying to see a lot of the things I've wanted to do and a lot of the projects and ideas I've had, make it into the light and to grow myself as I've done these things. I've got so much more planned and so many more places, people and wildlife I want to see, but what I need to keep reminding myself of is that I whilst I'm being awarded positions where I can share my thoughts and uplift opinions and voices not really taken into account before, I have to take advantage of this and try to make change where I can, or share and make it easier for others to make that change. It's important to enjoy the ride, but there must be an awareness that there is a struggle happening, and if I have the privelege of knowing about this and not being affected by it directly, and even if I am and have a voices, I must use my resources to help change these situations. It's also been quite surprising to me how far I've managed to make it as a trans pakistani non binary woman, and I hope I can continue to use this opportunity to uproot and provide alternatives to a broken system but also to become the explorer, naturalist, writer, film-maker and influence I dreamt about for so long when I was so small.
