Looking forward to part two of my residency with @dukeperformances next week I’ll be working with local high school students and the Duke Jazz Ensemble, and we’ll present a concert next Friday February 11 Lately I’ve been listening through archival recordings of Mary Lou Williams teaching at Duke in the late 70s. She’s playing some unreal piano but more importantly she brings a tremendous generosity of spirit to the classroom, rehearsal, and concert stage. I’m constantly inspired by her example
