Easy, filling, nourished and topped with cashews and raisins sautéed in ghee - this breakfast dish or dinner (link in bio!) cooked in coconut milk pacifies both vata and pitta so great at this time of year when the heat is on!
Have you had sweet dal? In Asia there are many desserts and sweet dishes made with beans and lentils. In the Philippines the unofficial National dessert has sweet beans along with yam, ube jam, coconut, candied fruits, evaporated milk and shaved ice, topped with icecream sundae-style. I also love hopia (a sweet bean pastry cake - check out my book East by West for a hopia inspired bean and jaggery fudge) and don’t forget my chickpea flour ladoos on jasminehemsley.com! This porridge (link in bio) is a less sweet and more soupy version of a mung bean/moong bean halwa - warm lentil pudding with nuts and spices (@drmathewayurveda has contributed his fav recipe on my website if you fancy it!).
