In their pursuit of owning a possession, the possession owns them. They lose their sanity, diminish their well-being, and place their happiness and existence in the hands of the object of desire.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Furthermore, they expect it to unfold in a certain way or by a particular time, and the more reality doesn’t correspond with their expectations, the more inner turmoil they experience. Their emotional attachment gives rise to uncertainty, fear, doubt, anxiety, and anger, increasing resistance against the goal. They continue to lack the goal while holding on to little mental peace and clarity, which only extends their suffering.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ There’s beauty and power in letting go.
