Yes we’re still banging on about childcare but UK parents can’t take another summer like we’ve just had. The childcare system is broken and we need to continue to fight for an independent review into the cost and affordability of childcare. So today @graziauk @thejuggleuk and @pregnant_then_screwed delivered an open letter to the new Prime Minister. I hope she takes it seriously not just because it’s the right thing to do but because investing in childcare is an investment in the economy. And parents, by which it’s overwhelmingly mothers, shouldn’t be forced out of the workplace because they can’t afford to pay for childcare. It doesn’t make sense.
