For T’s design issue, I went to Venice to meet the English art dealer Nicholas Ward-Jackson (who also co-wrote Derek Jarman’s 1994 film, “Caravaggio”) at his 3,500-square-foot apartment on the piano nobile of a 17th-century palazzo. Ward-Jackson had discovered the property about a decade or so ago, on the eve of leaving Italy for good; but as he toured the space for what he thought was the first time, it felt eerily familiar.
