The exhibition “Dawoud Bey & Carrie Mae Weems: In Dialogue” at Grand Rapids Art Museum is accompanied by a beautifully produced publication from DelMonico Books. GRAM curator Ron Platt and National Museum of African American History and Culture Deputy Director Kinshasha Holman Conwill have contributed essays, with an introduction by GRAM director Dana Friis-Hansen. Carrie and I contributed written considerations of each other’s work, lives, and practices.
