Went and visited Arundel Castle in West Sussex the other day. It is a beautifully restored medieval castle which was built during the reign of Edward the Confessor. It’s really in pristine condition. Loads of people were walking around capturing pictures of all its beauty but I didn’t go with the intent to take pictures. I just wanted a day out with the family and not have to think about anything for a minute or two, so I had left my camera home. I did really well, the not taking pictures part that is. I walked around and just enjoyed the sights and all was well until I passed this little scene. It’s probably something most visitors passed by without even noticing. Under a staircase, tucked away in a little nook, stood this old dusty wheelchair minding its own business. Immediately my mind created a sinister story around this particular scene so I had to take a picture albeit being it on my iPhone. I obstructed the flow and people had to walk around me while I sat down on my knees to capture this shot and I am sure they must have thought I was pretty weird when we had so much beauty and grandeur all around to capture and there I was on my knees, under a staircase, in a dark corner, shooting an old wheelchair.
