UPDATE: Buck has passed away. 💔 He fought hard but his body was tired. Once he knew he was finally loved, he felt safe enough to cross the rainbow bridge. 🌈Thank you to everyone who was rooting for him. Overlooked & Forgotten, With His Pain Clear As Day.⁠ ⁠ Buck deserved so much from this world but seems defeated by the neglect and cruelty he has endured. We don’t know details about his past, but hid body gives us clues about it’s horrors.⁠ ⁠ Buck is currently facing several medical issues. He is hairless, his skin has been infected and inflamed for so long that it is cracking and caked in blood and pus. On top of being covered in fleas, he is riddled with mange – both of which would have caused him severe pain for a very long time. His lack of fur accentuates his terribly thin body. Buck is alarmingly underweight, severely dehydrated, and malnourished, which has led to a serious anemia.⁠ ⁠ Once rushed to the emergency vet, a skin scrape revealed he also has Scabies, a form of Sarcoptic mange that is incredibly painful. Scabies is highly transmissible to both animals and people. Once he is healthy enough to withstand intensive treatments, the vet will perform a full workup, more diagnostic tests, vaccinations, and a neuter. But first thing's first: Tackling Buck's skin issues and getting some fur sprouting on that cute 'lil body of his!⁠ ⁠ Please send some love and snuggles to this warrior as he begins recovery and if you are able, please consider donating towards Buck's ongoing care.
