SAVE FOR PORTO RECOMMENDATIONS! This little city totally charmed us 🥰 I loved how walkable everything is (get your legs ready for inclines though!), the beautiful tile work everywhere, gorgeous views, and insanely good food and wine 🙌🏼 My recommendations: - Check out Livraria Lello, the library that inspired Hogwarts! You must get tickets before and I recommend getting them for close to opening or closing if possible because it was already so crowded when we went at 9am... I can’t imagine what it’s like in the middle of the day! - Walk up to Igreja do Carmo. We didn’t go in but the tiles outside of the church are gorgeous! - Climb the Torre dos Clerigos! There are 240 steps to get to the top, and then you get a 360 view of the city! - Treat yourself to a drink at Base Porto. After climbing all those steps, enjoy a spritz (or two!) at this cute open air bar. - A few more churches to see: Church of Saint Ildefonso, Chapel of Souls (I realized we missed this one but it’s ALL tiles and really close to Ildefonso 🙈) and Porto Cathedral. - Walk across the Luis I Bridge! We did this right after seeing the Porto Cathedral so we could walk across the top which is 100% the move. The views from up top are amazing! - After walking the bridge, take the gondola down to the riverside. - Walk along the river and try some port! (We did this on the other side too - bring a bottle of wine to watch the sunset!) - Eat at Adega Sao Nicolau - it’s a tiny little restaurant with a very cool curved wood ceiling inside + outdoor sidewalk seating. The most tender grilled octopus!! - Get a reservation at @semea because it was my favorite meal of the entire trip! Everything we had there was absolute perfection, from the ambiance to the hospitality to the wine to the beautifully prepared and presented dishes. Truly 10/10 experience. - Our favorite Pastel de Nata in Porto was at Castro 😋 - We stayed at @exmohotel - great central location plus a great little hotel in general. Loved it!
