Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while hosting a debate at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Kirk was sitting underneath a tent while speaking to students during a Q&A session when he was shot. The bullet appeared to strike him in the neck. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox called Kirk's death "a political assassination." A short video shared on X claimed to show a suspect being detained by the police. However, a spokesperson for the university says that man is no longer a suspect. FBI Director Kash Patel initally reported on X that a suspect was in custody, he updated his comments saying, "The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency." #iheartradio
