Googled my name yesterday (they spelled it with an e 🙄) and saw this image and everything came flooding back. Honestly I don't share enough about this journey i.e. the unsantised version of how people behave online and in person, not just racists, but Black folk in the gaming community who only wish you well when you have something to offer them. Those who smile in your face in person, then feel they can speak about you in private servers and offer weak apologies when it comes to light. Those that take issue with you being nominated for an award so vote for the White nominees. Those that try to insidiously pick your brain to flip your ideas for their profit. Those that try to discredit you after having been empowered by you in the first place. If I was less stubborn, I would have abandoned kindness and community a long time ago because why should I put up with that? There would have been a lot of "f*** around and find out moments" if the bigger goal and beautiful Black Women I work with didn't take precedent.
