Hostel en el agua real review This place was a DREAM! It’s been on my bucket list for actual years. Overall 10/10 experience, would go back in a heart beat. I loved it! Obviously doing things on a budget though comes with its pros and cons. So let’s run through them. We paid $60 USD a night for a private room, 3 meals, and a free transport to the most densely populated island in the world (Islote). You have to pay a tour fee of $2 once you got there. Alcoholic drinks were 2x $8-10 USD depending on what you order and shots were $3USD ~limited~ snacks are available from 9am-6pm which is needed because it’s about 8 hours between lunch and dinner. Pros: •GORGEOUS water •friendly staff •meals included •free snorkel masks •a nightly sunset that can’t be beat •lots of extra tour options •surprisingly comfy beds and pillows (we stayed in a private so can’t speak for the dorm) •places to hang in and around the water, plenty of activities to keep you busy but not in an exhausting way •the night time plankton tour was SO cool! (Pic _) Cons: •cash only (big duh) but be prepared because they make you pay at the end when you close up your tab so you have to have enough money for the room and your tab •no A/C and it’s around 80 at night depending on sea breeze •bucket showers 🥴 and only available between the hours of 6-9pm •meals are repetitive. I didn’t love them but I’m a pickier eater so my friend that isn’t said they were good but fresh seafood was always an option (crab pic) •can be loud at night because there’s no complete walls separating you from other rooms or the party downstairs but nothing my earplugs didn’t fix immediately All together this place was incredible. You’re going to a remote area where you’re surrounded by sea. So prepare before you go and you’ll have THE best time 💙 #cartagena #islarosario #hostel #caribbeanstories #besthostels
