I’m sorry to hear about your dad (I believe that’s what you said when we met after the show but forgive me if I got that detail wrong, the tour is getting long and my memories blurred). In any case it was a sobering moment to share. To look out during the Gamesofluck outro and see an illuminated face, bearing such raw emotion. Weeping glorious tears skyward, without shame or facade. A pure expression of something deep, and I guess it’s coming from a really difficult place, but to witness it expressed so tenderly transformed that pain into a beautiful thing. At least from where I was sitting. A true moment of human connection. Also a much appreciated reminder of why we do this. All we can hope for is to create some of those moments. So I thank you for your openness. I send much love. And I extend that sentiment to anyone else who reads this far, the recent shows have made it pretty clear that we have a very special group of people supporting us. Y’all are great.
