“No man steps into the same river twice, for it’s not the same river, and he’s not the same man.” - Heraclitus • I’ve recently been given the opportunity to revisit the river of rejection, however, it doesn’t quite feel the same as it once did. I’m still digesting but here are a few key takeaways: • What once made me feel discouraged and let down has now given me feelings of freedom and excitement. In the past I maybe would have closed myself off to the world so I could bask in my own sorrow. Now, I find myself taking a step back, reassessing the situation, and strategizing for a game plan moving forward. Rejection is a wise visitor with a lot to offer. It almost forces you to take an honest look at yourself, the lifestyle you live, your trajectory, the people you put yourself around, as well as the energy and beliefs you fuel your life perspective with. The only way you truly fail is if you give up. So if you fail, don’t be defeated. Be excited, and keep moving forward. The possibilities are endless.
