January 3rd 2022, I sat down and did a serious mental screening (manifestation) of my ideal work projects. It was simple...😂- ish. I wanted to do a project for National Geographic, work with my best friends, do more Director of photography for film projects, and go to the Amazon. Then I gave it to god/the universe/time & space and let it go, trusting that however this request will happen, it will happen, for my will wants it in its purest form. I can’t go into too much detail because of specific political reasons, but a few months later I was in the Amazon Jungle, teaching five incredible women from a warm and loving indigenous community how to be filmmakers, alongside my bestfriend @maiarawalsh. All funded by National Geographic. We had long and hot days, feeling the most uncomfortable mentally, physically and emotionally challenged I’ve ever felt, and I’d do it all again and again. Those few weeks changed my life—forever bending my reality of worlds, for I’ve seen and lived in two completely different ones. One thing is for damn sure as said by our students, “being filmmakers is the new Amazon warrior.” Here is a teaser we created the last day from our time in the jungle. A feature to come. I can’t be more blessed and grateful for this experience. Truly a career and a life highlight.
