I am absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of love and excitement about Diving Deep. It means the world to me! This show started in my closet during lockdown. Before the pandemic hit, I genuinely wanted to find a hobby so I googled, “hobby’s for adults” and the first thing I see: diamond painting. The competitive ballroom dancer in me saw that rhinestones were involved and, well, it was love at first sight. Once I started, I found it to be very therapeutic, so I started sending my friends paintings and decided to go live with them on IG. Back then it was called All That Glitters and it was something I genuinely looked forward to every single week. During those conversations I always learned something new about my friends and realized how much more open we were when talking about uncomfortable topics if we were also focused on our diamond paintings. I saw the act of diamond painting brought healing experiences not just for me me, but for everyone around me who tried it. Every painting is a process and it isn’t about finishing it as much as it is about my healing journey while diamond painting. For once in my life it isn’t about the end goal, it is about the present time, the here and now.
