Six years ago, right around this time, the Jardin Essentiel team was planting this garden in Brussels, as part of the last Parckdesign biennale. We always meant for it to stay. After the festival program ended the garden was handed over to a group of volunteers that gathered around it during those summer months. This picture is from today! Jardin Essentiel lives and loves! Handing over is such a complicated and crucial part of social practice and there are many ways to do it.
