Marie Selby Botanical Gardens...where you can connect with plants of the world. 🌸 On 45 acres of Sarasota land, the botanical gardens are a breath of fresh air. Founded in 1973, Marie Selby, a Sarasota resident and gardener, left her former property for visitor enjoyment. 50 years later, this dreamy spot is the only botanical garden in the world dedicated to the display and study of epiphytic orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads, ferns, and other tropical plants! The gardens are made up of the 15-acre Downtown Sarasota campus and the 30-acre Historic Spanish Point campus in Sarasota’s Osprey area. For the last 50 years, scientists from Selby have explored some of the world's most diverse places to study, collect, and learn from these beautiful plants. Along with its beauty and history, the gardens also offer unique experiences and opportunities for Florida visitors. There is a rotating series of exhibitions through The Living Museum model which includes: The Orchid Show, Rainforest Masks of Costa Rica, Past Exhibits at Selby Gardens, and more. On your next Florida vacation, come take in the beauty of the rainforest, desert, native Florida, and walk along a bayfront mangrove walkway. This breath of fresh air will leave you totally mesmerized. ✨ #LoveFL 📍: @selbygardens
