Paris (pt. un) Slide 1: Square Saint-Gilles Grand Veneur - Pauline-Roland. A very adorable, little garden in the center of a private residence in the 3rd arrondissement. I was disappointed to see a girl in the middle smoking a cigarette and totally ruining the ambience. Slide 2. “Maya au bateau” by Pablo Picasso, 1938. At the Musée National Picasso-Paris. Seeing this up close and in real life was so surreal, especially because I was wearing this exact print on my silk scarf that day. Slide 3. A gorgeous door in the Square Saint-Gilles Grand Veneur - Pauline-Roland. Paris is FULL of really beautiful doors of so many kinds and details. Slide 4. In La Ménagerie, le zoo du Jardin des Plantes. Slide 5: One of the many, many decadent and very on brand rooms at the Musée Carnavalet - Histoire de Paris. A really beautiful and unexpectedly large museum. If you’re in Paris during the summer and want to escape the heat, don’t go here. It’s just as hot inside as it is outside. Slide 6: Gorgeous roses in La Ménagerie, le zoo du Jardin des Plantes. Slide 7: Les colonnes de Buren at the Palais Royal. I didn’t really have an interest to see this installation but we ended up there by accident, so why not? Slide 8. “Femme assise devant la fenêtre” by Pablo Picasso, 1937. At the Musée National Picasso-Paris. Slide 9. My personal favorite, a series of works by my favorite sculptor, Constantin Brâncuși. At the Atelier Brâncuși. I was in so much awe of this showcase. Before he died, he left all his pieces to the state so they would be preserved and cared for following his passing.
