Located in the heart of the city on the site of a former samurai’s residence, House S is a three-story reinforced concrete house, where one can feel the richness of nature, crafts, and art throughout the spaces. Built on the same site, Garden House was designed to allow the resident to enjoy the views of the garden as well as the main house. The integration of the garden plantations with the open interior create a harmonized and complete space. The project is introduced in the book "Japanese Interiors" newly published by PHAIDON, with photos taken by photographer Ben Richards on a beautiful autumn day.
