Some of you may know that my 14 year old daughter Makayla is on the autism spectrum. It has been a challenge for my family to navigate the diagnosis but we try our best while doing it with a smile. Because of Makayla’s speech delay and diagnosis we thought our child would only speak handful of words throughout her life. On top of that we had no idea what/if she was comprehending. All of that changed two months ago...After taking a new approach called letter-boarding, not only did we find out that she can communicate, but that she is a brilliant young person that has so much to say. Somehow she knows multiplication, division and all sorts of things we’ve never taught her. She also loves the arts🤯 With April being worldwide Autism Awareness month, my wife @mananacain and I wanted to celebrate all of the many Makayla’s out there by throwing a block party at our boutique @bridgeboutique in Inman Park, ATL on Saturday April 2nd!
