Sometimes, you have to walk away to find a fresh perspective🚶🏾‍♀️. I have too much on to be in Venice for the Biennale this week 🗓 , but did make it to Italy 🇮🇹 for Easter week and between Lecce, Matera, Bari and Le Marche, I found the post-pandemic reset I badly needed ☀️ , after so many cancelled holidays and thwarted plans 🥀 . Being on trains gave me space to read, gaze at olive trees, dream 💭 Italy is a home away from home 🏡 . It’s the place where I first lived abroad when I was twenty 🍹 , and where I discovered design, the Renaissance, Calvino, Primo Levi (and bad romance- ha!) Three years away left my Italian rusty and speaking it again felt like it revived a dormant part of my brain 🚀. I’m sure those of you like languages will know what I mean. Geeky thrills, I know! 🤓 Hoping to be back there in June for Salone and to see the Biennale. (Anyone else going then too?)
