🗣️ WHERE TO TRAVEL IN 2023 I was so happy to see that Montenegro is one of @AmericanExpress Travel’s 2023 Trending Destinations. Montenegro has a sweet spot in my heart. I wrote about its kind people, fresh seafood and beautiful coastline in my book, The Catch Me If You Can. Despite being a relatively uncharted destination, it’s home to a handful of luxury accommodations offering world-class dining and wellness between exploring the country both on land and water. The Balkans are a great place for multi-country road trips. From Montenegro, you can do an easy day trip to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Famous for its iconic Stari Most bridge, the magnificent medieval old town of Mostar has a fascinating mix of architecture and restaurants offering traditional and filling dishes that are not to be missed. 1. On my first trip to Montenegro in 2010 I explored the coastal town of Kotor. My favorite part of visiting the old town was getting lost in Kotor’s winding streets and squares, all protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. 2. A view of the Bay of Kotor 3. There are many bridges connecting the two sides of Mostar over the Neretva River. I loved this small arched stone bridge covered in ivy.
