It isn’t easy to see things through to the end, especially at the end of a quarter. Somehow, you lose steam right when you get close to the finish line. Approaching finals is not straightforward because the test is challenging. On top of that, the professor probably has gone through 5-6 additional lectures. Pressure has been applied. I study daily, hoping to decrease my stress, but lately, I have felt more anxious. I have been giving myself grace and pulling back when I feel overwhelmed. Well, here is how my week looked last week. 1. I had an appointment to change my oil and learned how valuable studying on the go is. I have been doing this since school started. I take material with me and turn on study tunes by Apple to get to work. 2. My goal has been to fit a chapter on one page with a concept map. Mission accomplished. This is all about acquired or adaptive immunity. Interesting fact: I took immunology as an undergrad biology major, 3. I treated myself this past week for booking my first tutoring session with a nursing student. In my former days, I did a lot of education work in the ED, including organizing onboarding for new nurses and, most recently, teaching didactic classes to new grad nurses started in the ED. 4. It all started at Grady Memorial Hospital. A part of me wants to practice here when I finish CRNA school. My population health class has highlighted my honor of working in the black community. We shall see how this goes. 5. Pharmacology is finally done. I gave my all. I studied hard, and that’s all I can ask of myself. Biology is life, and pressure is a privilege. Forever thankful for the journey #Nurse
