Remember we are humans not robots. As humans we are bound to make mistakes from time to time it’s just what happens so don’t beat yourself up just figure out a solution. In this case when I was checking her foils processing I noticed one of the foils had a split down the middle and created a bleed mark on the hair in between the foils. Instead of hiding it and freaking out inside pretending like nothing happened, I calmly let the client know what happened it’s okay, I’m going to put a low light in it which will cover it up and next time if I see anything when I’m foiling I will make sure I break it up and do what I can to make it right. This is one way to client retention, being honest and upfront about what’s going on so that you’re not hiding anything because the one time you decide to pretend like you don’t see what you know isn’t right, will be the one time the client notices it and never comes back to you because you let her walk out the door with whatever on her head. Sometimes owning up to a mistake isn’t the easiest thing to do but it’s the best thing to do because then they trust you after that, they know you ain’t gonna let them walk around with anything messed up on their head anymore and are willing to make it right if you didn’t hit the mark the first time. All we see all day is perfect hair. Let’s normalize things we know all happen to us so that others know they’re not alone. Even the best of the best make mistakes sometimes and that’s okay!!! #amburgerofhair
