I was chatting with my long time friend @parkercook recently and he sent me a photo of a fireplace he was building. Its a science fiction looking creation and reminded me of this photo we got back in 2003. When Parker does something he’s all in. The dude is not scared to go big and it shows no mater what walk of life your dealing with. Here’s his take on going big ✍🏻: @parkercook Big days come in all forms .. I can draw a direct comparison from this cloudy grey powder day to the feeling of signing my first welding shop lease, emptying my bank account and buying my (own) welding equipment .. It’s intense to believe something like hitting a monster cliff like this is calculated and doable.. It’s also intense to start your own business. Personal passions alone can motivate, but sometimes you need a proper nudge from a partner to help convince you that you can accomplish your goals. That shove came from my wife Kate, she was a huge component in helping me take the solo business plunge. She’s been right by my side through all the ups and downs a small business endures. Overall, you need to be calculated you need to 100% commit whether it’s in business, stepping up to a stunt, or having the confidence to take on any architectural project. I absolutely needed to hit this cliff .. even though the light was garbage and most of the crew was over it, packing up, and putting lens caps back on. I couldn’t let it go.. I stepped to the edge, yelled down to Wissman "I don’t care about the light.. I’m going to hit it anyway”... Wissman hung tough and ended up capturing one of my gnarliest moments on skis .. And then quickly punked me by yelling down “kid .. you blew it!!” .. and then not telling me the pic went anywhere until it I randomly saw it in print the next year.
