It’s my #sundayviews, a weekly post where I share my favorite things + places in Chicago and what I’m wearing- like these Michelle earrings. Our family went to the Illuminate 900, the tree lighting ceremony and Christmas pageant in the @900shops and benefiting @wishillinois. My friend David, @galanstyling has always gushed about this event and he was not wrong! Santa, @balletchicago and an army of performers and musicians wowed us along with the food and drinks on every floor. It was all so delicious and just perfect and surely a holiday tradition for us! We had the chance to see the incredible display that 900 team of James and David did for a project I helped to bring to life. Project Pointe Shoe is a special online raffle fundraiser that benefits youth programming at Ballet Chicago, Chicago’s pre-professional Balanchine dance school. My generous designer friends donated their talents and created pointe shoes inspired by The Nutcracker and these shoes are on display at the @900shops on the 5th floor next to @bloomingdales. I have driven past @stevesflowermarket forever and finally went in yesterday. This floral shop that was brimming with flowers and plants from floor to ceiling. I picked up a ton of baby’s breath and foliage and got set to make my table decor for a dinner party. Since we are busy parents, we have zero time for anything and that includes celebrating Mr c+p’s birthday. It’s not even until December but we planned a small gathering of our friends to celebrate even though he insisted that it wasn’t a bday party. So that was our theme and I had my friend Beth at @thatcookiebetch create custom cookies for dessert. She understood the assignment! All I told her was that he likes beer, bourbon and grilling and didn’t want a bday party and she came up with these hand painted cookies that nailed it. Order from her asap!
