The beginning of this year I had the chance to share more Lao food with friends. Little did I realize that it was one of the most epic dinner spreads I had ever done before. I couldn't really make up my mind on what to make and one idea turned into many little dishes and it suddenly reminded me of all the family gatherings I've had growing up. The mat that every South East Asian family owns (shout out to my grandma for letting me borrow one) and everyone sitting around it to partake in prepping for the meal. So many steps from washing produce, shredding green papaya and steaming sticky rice. It all came together. A special part of my heart and culture that brought so much joy to share with friends and new ones that blossomed that day. Thank you @hahnbo for capturing this moment.
