So saddened by the news of Irene Cara’s death. She starred as Coco in my all-time favorite movie Fame. She lit up the screen with her beauty & that voice. She was raw and real and a friend to everyone. She gave hope to kids who looked like her. Years before, she shined as the title character in Sparkle. And then she blew the roof off the house when she sang ‘What a Feeling’ for the 1980’s hit Flashdance. I’m so glad to have shared this moment in time with her.
