Remembering and paying our tribute to Shri Aurobindo Ghosh on his 70th death anniversary. Maharaja Sayajirao III and Shri Aurobindo met during one of Sayajirao III visits to England. Aurobindo, 20 years old at that time, was serving the British Empire. Maharaja Sayajirao III was so impressed with him during the meeting that he immediately offered him a job in the Baroda administration. Aurobindo understood very well and articulated the vision of Maharaja Sayajirao and wrote several of the Maharaja’s speeches. Later Aurobindo was invited to teach French at the Baroda College (later The Maharaja Sayajirao University) and was given the professorship of English. Aurobindo later went on to become the vice-principal of the Baroda College. Maharaja Sayajirao III had a deep affection for Shri Aurobindo and enjoyed Aurobindo's intellectual companionship.
