A more detailed ‘Kiss By Nature’ Nature is a beautiful thing. It gives and takes life with her own invincible laws. Laws that us humans have been neglecting lately. Actions that are creating an unbalanced world which will leave us an uninhabitable environment. Where we could be extinct, nature will survive. This line of thought is something I wanted to visualise. A sculpture in the shape of a human that is being swallowed by mother nature. The ‘human’ is made out of a variety of waste & trash found in the streets of my neighborhood in Amsterdam. It was surprising how much diverse garbage I could collect with a small walk around the block when you are looking for it. With a couple rounds, I collected enough to create the entire human. The elements of nature are made out of different denim cuts and scrapes of a jean production. I created the roots and leaves to represent nature. The roots were created by twisting while stitching, the leaves were frayed with use of a tumble dryer. The denim consists of recycled cotton and there is use of denim of discarded jeans. Now displayed at the @veerkracht.dialogue ‘s Nature positive denim exhibition at Kämp Galleria in Helsinki. Change is in OUR hands
